The Comb
The first BBC Africa narrative podcast.

Brief

The BBC tasked us with creating the first-ever narrative podcast aimed at the African market. We set out to explore stories beyond the traditional narratives about the continent—tackling societal taboos and cultural issues that resonate with our audience. Stories about the unseen forces that bind us together, and those that tear us apart.

Creative Direction

To give the project a unique look and feel, we commissioned Nigerian designer Fred Martins to create the artwork and branding. We then partnered with Kenyan composer Eric Musyoka to craft the music and soundscape of the podcast. By engaging leading African artists, we gave the project the credentials, look, and feel of a premium show rooted in African excellence.
